Burglary Reported in Locked House in Hallomajra, Suspect Arrested
Chandigarh: In a shocking incident, a burglary was reported at a locked house in Hallomajra, according to the police. The suspect in the case has been apprehended, officials stated.
The complaint was lodged by a woman who claimed that an unknown individual had stolen her earrings, one gold bangle, two gold rings, and two mobile phones after breaking into her house by tampering with the locks. The incident occurred between November 5, 2023, and February 11 of this year, during which time the woman was away from her residence. Upon her return, she discovered that all her household items had been scattered on the floor.
The Hallomajra police station registered a case under sections 380 (theft) and 457 (house-trespass) of the Indian Penal Code based on the woman’s complaint. During the course of their investigation, the police arrested the suspect, identified as Narinder Kumar alias Mannu, a 35-year-old resident of Sector-20/C.
The police have confirmed that the investigation into the case is still ongoing.
In other news, the Thane police department has reported a rise in House Breaking Thefts (HBT) cases in 2023. Despite the implementation of security measures in new residential complexes, the detection rate remains half of the cases registered in Thane. It has been noted that interstate gangs contribute to the HBT cases. To prevent such incidents, property owners and tenants are advised to invest in comprehensive security solutions, including the installation of security systems and proper verification of credentials.
Additionally, two cases of house burglaries were reported in Nashik, where cash and jewelry worth over Rs 7 lakh were stolen. In one case, a resident of Shivaji Nagar reported the theft of Rs 5.5 lakh in cash, while in the other incident in Makhmalabad, gold and silver jewelry worth Rs 1.5 lakh were stolen.
These incidents highlight the importance of maintaining strong security measures to protect one’s property and belongings. Authorities are urging residents to be vigilant and take necessary precautions to safeguard their homes..
