Trial Begins for Suspect in Disappearance of Madeleine McCann
Berlin, Germany – The prime suspect in the 17-year-old case of missing British toddler Madeleine McCann is set to go on trial in Germany. The 47-year-old man, identified as Christian B., will face unrelated charges of rape and child sex abuse.
Christian B. was named as a suspect in the McCann case in June 2020, marking a major breakthrough in the long-unsolved mystery. While he has not been charged in connection with Madeleine’s disappearance, he was charged in October 2022 with five other crimes allegedly committed in Portugal between 2000 and 2017.
