Hamilton police Arrest 22-Year-Old in Connection with Father’s Murder
Hamilton Police have apprehended 22-year-old Sukhraj Cheema-Singh in Toronto earlier today. Cheema-Singh was on the run after being wanted for the First-Degree murder of his father.
The incident took place on Saturday, February 11, 2024, around 7:42 p.m. when Hamilton Police received a distress call from a residence in Stoney Creek, near the intersection of Trafalgar and Mud Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 56-year-old Kuldip Singh from Stoney Creek severely injured. Singh was immediately rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
After the incident, Cheema-Singh fled the scene in a dark blue mid-size SUV, which was later identified as a blue 2022 Ford Edge with a Quebec license plate. However, Hamilton Police successfully apprehended Cheema-Singh at 2:55 p.m. in the area of Dufferin St. and Eglington Ave W, where he was still driving the vehicle.
Cheema-Singh is scheduled to appear in court on February 13, 2024, where he will face charges in relation to the murder of his father.
