A horrifying incident took place in Punjab’s Jalandhar on Tuesday morning, where a woman and her daughter were shot dead by two men on a motorcycle. The culprits went a step further and set fire to the older woman’s body after dousing it with petrol, according to the police.

The incident occurred in Amar Nagar, near Bhujbal village, under the jurisdiction of the Patara police station. Senior Superintendent of Police (Jalandhar Rural) Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar and other senior officers rushed to the scene to begin the investigation.

The victims have been identified as Ranjit Kaur, a resident of Amar Nagar in her mid-50s, and her daughter Gurpreet Kaur. Tragically, both women lost their lives on the spot. The police are in the process of registering a murder case based on the statement given by Ranjit’s husband, Jagtar Singh.

To aid in the identification of the culprits, the police have obtained CCTV footage from cameras in the area. Hopefully, this evidence will help bring the perpetrators to justice.

In a shocking twist, the family of the victims has alleged that Gurpreet’s husband, Jaspreet Singh Jassa, who resides in America, is responsible for the double murder. The family claims that problems between Gurpreet and her husband arose shortly after their wedding, which took place around four years ago. Despite having a child together, the couple’s relationship had deteriorated over time.
