A man, identified as 42-year-old Wilmer Rosali Canales Ventura of Northwest, D.C., lost his life after being struck by a Toyota RAV4 while crossing Georgia Avenue NW at Ingraham Street NW. The accident happened at around 2:21 p.m., while Ventura was using the designated crosswalk.
Emergency services swiftly arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, Ventura succumbed to his injuries the following day. The driver of the Toyota RAV4 remained at the scene after the incident, cooperating with law enforcement officials.
