“Tragedy in Cole Harbour: Youth dead and another hospitalized in suspected overdose”

A youth in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, has died from a suspected overdose, while another person was hospitalized due to a separate suspected overdose. Police seized unknown substances and drug paraphernalia. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service is assisting with the investigation.

A tragic incident occurred in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, as local police reported the death of a young individual due to a suspected drug overdose. The incident took place on Sunday at approximately 12:45 p.m. when authorities responded to a distress call from a residence in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of the youth. Additionally, emergency responders transported two other individuals to the hospital in relation to separate suspected overdoses.

In an effort to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident, law enforcement officers confiscated a small quantity of substances in pill and powder form, as well as drug paraphernalia. The investigation is being conducted in collaboration with the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service, whose expertise will aid in shedding light on the tragic event.

Further exacerbating the situation, another suspected drug overdose was reported in Cole Harbour later that evening, around 9:30 p.m. On this occasion, the police administered multiple doses of Narcan, a drug used to counteract the effects of opioid overdose, to a 34-year-old man. Subsequently, he was transferred to the hospital for further medical attention.
