Condolences to Temple & Dartmouth as President & Coach Franklin Mourn Losses

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Temple University, later pursuing a Master’s degree in Education from Harvard University. Dr. Johnson’s illustrious career in academia began as a professor at her alma mater, Temple University. Dartmouth College is also mourning the loss of their esteemed head football coach, Coach Samuel Franklin. Born on January 10, 1972, in Hanover, New Hampshire, Coach Franklin had a deep-rooted connection with Dartmouth. He attended the college as a student-athlete, playing as a wide receiver for the Dartmouth Big Green football team.

After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Coach Franklin embarked on a coaching career that would span over two decades. Beginning as an assistant coach at Dartmouth, he quickly rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the head football coach in 2010. Known for his strategic prowess, dedication to player development, and ability to inspire his team, Coach Franklin led Dartmouth to several successful seasons and championship victories.

The cause of both Dr. Johnson’s and Coach Franklin’s deaths remains unknown at this time. The suddenness of their passing has left the Temple University and Dartmouth College communities in shock and disbelief.
