Unidentified Human Remains Discovered in Memphis Airport Area as Family Searches for Missing Mother
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — In a shocking turn of events, unidentified human remains were found in the airport area of Memphis early Wednesday morning. The discovery comes as family members desperately search for a missing mother in the same vicinity.
The missing woman, Dominique Lomax, was last seen at the nearby Highland Meadows Apartments, which is only 1.5 miles away from where the body was discovered. Her sister, Danetra Lomax, expressed her anguish and longing for her sister’s safe return. “She’s been missing since 5 almost 4:30 Monday morning, and we just want her to come home,” Lomax said. “If this crime scene is my sister, we deserve to know.”
According to Memphis Police, officers responded to a fire along Swinnea Road near Holmes Road at 4:30 a.m. After extinguishing the flames, investigators made the grim discovery of a woman’s body. However, the victim has not yet been identified, leaving Lomax wondering if it could be her sister. She emphasized the need for answers, stating, “I want to know where my sister is. My mom wants to know where her daughter is. Her son wants to know where she is.”
Lomax revealed that her sister was last seen with her boyfriend. The boyfriend informed police that he dropped off Dominique Lomax at the apartment complex to meet another man. He claims that she texted him saying she was going inside somewhere but never responded to his message asking for her whereabouts. However, Lomax’s sister believes that the boyfriend knows more about her sister’s location and suspects that someone disposed of Dominique’s phone.
While hoping that the unidentified remains do not belong to her sister, Lomax urged the public to be on the lookout for a woman with a red and pinkish bob, wearing an all-white outfit. The family is devastated and feels helpless without any leads on Dominique’s whereabouts. Lomax pleaded, “If y’all have any information, please contact us.”
