FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified the Clovis woman who tragically lost her life in a devastating crash on Highway 168 in the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to reports from local news sources.
The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Helena Rhinehart, a resident of Clovis.
The fatal incident occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. on eastbound Highway 168 near Ashlan Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Authorities have stated that a 23-year-old male driver, operating a Dodge vehicle, was also involved in the collision and sustained serious injuries. The driver of the Dodge lost control of their vehicle, resulting in a collision with Rhinehart’s Nissan. Both drivers became trapped within their respective vehicles as a result of the impact.
Emergency services swiftly arrived at the scene and extricated both drivers from their vehicles. They were then transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
