APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — In a recent incident, a 21-year-old individual was robbed while trying to sell an Apple watch in Apple Valley. The incident occurred on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at approximately 5:16 p.m., in the 20400 block of State Highway 18.
The victim had agreed to meet an unknown person at a shopping center parking lot to complete the sale of his watch. However, as soon as the victim handed over the watch, the suspect swiftly snatched the victim’s wallet and made a quick escape on a bicycle. Realizing the gravity of the situation, the victim promptly dialed 911, and law enforcement authorities were dispatched to investigate the incident.
Responding deputies, acting swiftly, spotted an individual matching the suspect’s description and managed to intercept him as he attempted to flee on his bicycle. Through a thorough investigation, the suspect was identified as 30-year-old Kevin Mark Ayala, a resident of Apple Valley. Law enforcement officials promptly arrested Ayala and transported him to the High Desert Detention Center, where he was booked for robbery. Presently, Ayala is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
