Polk County Sheriff’s Office Identifies Victim of Fatal Crash
The Polk County Sheriff’s office has identified the victim of a tragic one-vehicle crash that occurred early Tuesday morning. The deceased has been named as 34-year-old Alicia Paukstat, a resident of rural Luck. The incident took place west of Turtle Lake on Hwy. E, just north of Hwy. G (200th Ave.) in the Town of Georgetown.

Sheriff Brent Waak reported that the Sheriff’s Office received a call about the crash at 2:12 a.m. on September 17. Upon investigation, it was determined that a northbound pickup truck, driven by Paukstat, crossed the center line, veered into the opposite ditch, and collided with a power pole. Unfortunately, Paukstat was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Apple River Fire/First Responders and the Polk County Medical Examiner assisted the Sheriff’s Office in responding to the crash. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident is still ongoing.
