Fatal Car Crash on I-15 Northbound near Temecula Parkway Leads to Arrest

According to the CHP, the incident occurred around 9:52 pm when a 2011 Toyota Camry was involved in a solo vehicle crash, coming to a halt perpendicular to traffic lanes on the right shoulder of I-15. As Party #2 stood by her car, another driver, identified as Party #1, was traveling northbound on I-15 at approximately 70 miles per hour. Despite an attempt by an uninvolved vehicle to avoid the scene, Party #1 was unable to react in time and collided with both Party #2 and the Toyota, resulting in fatal injuries for Party #2.
Following the crash, witnesses stopped to assist, while Party #1 fled the scene on foot. However, CHP officers, in partnership with the Temecula Police Department, quickly located and arrested Party #1 on charges of murder, felony DUI, and felony hit-and-run. The individual sustained minor injuries and was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center before being booked into the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center.
