It has been brought to our attention that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has raised concerns about the presence of 50,000 deceased individuals on the voter register. The NDC has requested the Electoral Commission of Ghana to provide death certificates, obituaries, or details of relatives to verify these claims. We urge the NDC to provide concrete evidence to support their allegations and work collaboratively with the EC to ensure the integrity of the voter register.

Additionally, the EC has noted a significant increase in the transfer list following the 2020 elections. This surge in transfers is attributed to the absence of transfer requests post-election. The EC is committed to investigating these transfers and ensuring that the voter register remains accurate and up-to-date.

Furthermore, the EC has taken action against an officer allegedly involved in dubious transfers. The said officer has been suspended pending further investigation. The EC remains dedicated to upholding transparency and accountability in all its operations.

In a recent development, it has been reported that the officer in question has passed away. While this news is circulating on social media, we remind the public to await official confirmation from reliable sources before drawing any conclusions.
