Coleen Marie Janssen, a beloved member of the STM Parish community, was born on May 3, 1953, in Churdan, IA, to her parents, John and Mary Janssen. She grew up in Churdan and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, where she developed a strong faith that would guide her throughout her life. Coleen was known for her kind and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

After graduating from high school, Coleen pursued a career in nursing, a profession that allowed her to care for others with compassion and empathy. She dedicated over 40 years to helping patients at various hospitals and healthcare facilities, leaving a lasting impact on all those she encountered. Coleen’s colleagues remember her as a dedicated and hardworking nurse who always put her patients’ needs first.

In addition to her nursing career, Coleen was actively involved in her church community. She was a faithful parishioner at STM Parish in Johnston, where she volunteered her time and talents to various ministries. Coleen’s commitment to serving others extended beyond her professional life, as she found joy in lending a helping hand to those in need within her community.

Coleen was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a special bond with her family and cherished the time spent with her loved ones. A funeral Mass to celebrate Coleen’s life will be held at STM Parish in Johnston, followed by a burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Churdan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Coleen’s memory.
