Tragic Accident Claims Life of 20-Year-Old Pedestrian on Hawaii Island
Heartbreaking news out of Hawaii Island as authorities have identified the pedestrian tragically killed in a crash back in June. The victim, Densiann Denno, only 20 years old and from Hilo, lost their life in a devastating accident on Highway 130.

The incident occurred on June 23 around 8:30 p.m. as an SUV traveling northwest on Highway 130 struck Denno in the middle of the road near Orchidland Drive. The weather conditions were less than ideal, with rain making visibility low at the time of the crash.
While the driver escaped the accident unharmed, Denno was left unresponsive at the scene. They were rushed to Hilo Benioff Medical Center and later airlifted to Queens Medical Center in critical condition. Tragically, Denno passed away on June 25.
An autopsy was conducted at Queens Medical Center following Denno’s death, though Hawaii Island police are still awaiting the results. Despite the tragic outcome, authorities do not suspect speed or impairment played a role in the crash.
