Sad News: BUET Batchmate Rokeya Sabur, ADB Principal, Passes Away

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our dear BUET batchmate, Ms. Rokeya Sabur. Rokeya was a dedicated and talented Chemical Engineering student in our graduating class of 1984. After completing her studies at BUET, she went on to have a successful career at the Asian Development Bank (@ADB_HQ) as a Principal Safeguards Specialist.

Rokeya’s contributions to the field of safeguards and her commitment to her work at the ADB were widely recognized and admired by her colleagues and peers. She was known for her professionalism, integrity, and passion for making a positive impact in the world through her work. Her early retirement in 2017 was a loss to the organization, but Rokeya had earned the right to enjoy a well-deserved break after years of dedicated service.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Rokeya was a beloved friend and classmate to many of us. Her warm smile, kind heart, and sense of humor brightened our days and brought joy to those around her.
