Tragic Accident Claims Life of Oregon Woman
Heartbreaking news out of Hood River County, Oregon, as a 55-year-old woman tragically lost her life in a devastating accident on Interstate 84. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when an ambulance collided with her car as she was pulled over on the side of the road.

The Oregon State Police reported that the ambulance, operated by 42-year-old Amanda Hancock of American Medical Response, veered out of its lane and struck the woman’s Chevrolet Camaro near milepost 54. The victim, identified as Geraldean Edna Martin, had been outside of her vehicle attending to a flat tire at the time of the impact.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Martin succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash. Miraculously, the ambulance driver and two passengers escaped unharmed, including a patient who was being transported in the back of the vehicle.
Authorities closed down a section of I-84 for several hours to conduct a thorough investigation into the tragic incident. The Oregon State Police are continuing to gather information and piece together the events leading up to the fatal collision.
