As a result, we are left with a society where misinformation spreads like wildfire, where facts are dismissed as “fake news,” and where the public’s trust in the media continues to erode. This not only weakens our democracy but also creates a breeding ground for corruption and authoritarianism.

If we want to save our democracy, we must hold the media accountable for their actions. We must demand transparency, accuracy, and integrity from our news sources. And most importantly, we must support independent journalism that is not beholden to corporate interests.

The death of this Democratic Republic will not be due to external threats or foreign powers. It will be the result of our own complacency and willingness to accept a media landscape that prioritizes profit over truth. It is up to us to demand better, to fight for a media that truly serves the public good. Only then can we ensure that the Fourth Estate remains a pillar of democracy, rather than its downfall.
