On the fateful night, Shah and his friends indulged in 12 large pegs of Jack Daniels at Vice-Global Tapas Bar, incurring a hefty bill of ₹18,730. Despite one of the friends being below the legal drinking age of 25 in Maharashtra, liquor was served to all present.

Events Leading to the Tragedy

After dropping off his friends in his Mercedes, Shah proceeded to take his BMW to Marine Drive with his driver, Rajrishi Bidawat. Along the way, they stopped at Sai Prasad Bar in Malad to purchase four cans of Budweiser Magnum, which they consumed during the journey.

Remorse and Confession

In a startling revelation, Shah expressed remorse to the police, admitting that he was intoxicated while behind the wheel during the accident. He confessed that he was unaware of the pillion rider being trapped beneath the car, indicating a sense of guilt and regret for his actions.

Details of the Tragic Collision

The investigation revealed that the scooterist, Pradip Nakhwa, collided with the BMW, causing his wife, Kaveri, to become trapped under the vehicle.
