11 Bangladeshi Nationals and 1 Indian Tout Apprehended in Tripura

In a recent development, Government Railway Police (GRP) and Border Security Force (BSF) have apprehended a total of 11 Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian tout in separate incidents in Tripura. The arrests were made in Agartala Railway Station and Sabroom Railway Station under South District.

GRP Detains 8 Bangladeshi Nationals in Agartala

Late at night on July 11, GRP officials arrested eight Bangladeshi nationals, including a minor boy, at Agartala Railway Station. The Officer-In-Charge of GRP, Tapas Das, mentioned that they received a tip-off about the presence of Bangladeshi nationals at the railway station. Acting on this information, the authorities detained the individuals who were found in suspicious circumstances.

During preliminary interrogation, the detainees confessed to being Bangladeshi nationals who had entered Tripura illegally. They revealed that they were on their way to various destinations in India in search of work. The individuals claimed that they were unaware of the exact location from where they had crossed the border. The GRP officials are conducting further investigations and plan to seek police remand for the suspects.

The detained individuals have been identified as Ibrahim Hossain (24) from Kalaroa District, Safikul Islam (32) from Satkhira District, Musamed Salina Begam (22) with her son Samim Reze (5), Md. Shimul Hossain (28), Nur Nahar Juma (23), Taslima Kanum (24), and Meenu Khatun (19).

BSF Apprehends 3 Bangladeshi Nationals and 1 Indian Tout in Sabroom

On the same day, BSF officials detained three Bangladeshi nationals at Sabroom Railway Station. During interrogation, the individuals disclosed the name of an Indian tout identified as Thaikai Mog (26), who was also arrested in connection with the case.

The joint efforts of GRP and BSF have led to the apprehension of these individuals, highlighting the ongoing challenges of illegal immigration and human trafficking in the region.
