Arrest and Seizure of Illegal Items

The Southern Police District (SPD) report revealed that the authorities apprehended the two Vietnamese men at a bar along Roxas Boulevard early Tuesday morning. The arrest was made following a complaint from the victim, who is also Vietnamese. The suspects, identified as “Van”, 26, and “Hoang”, 23, were found in possession of illegal items. Van was caught with a Colt Combat Commander .45 caliber pistol and three rounds of ammunition, while Hoang was found with 1.5 grams of shabu worth P10,200.

Legal Charges and Consequences

The two suspects were taken to the Pasay Police Headquarters for documentation and the filing of charges. Van will face complaints for light threat charges and violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (RA 10591) for possessing an unlicensed firearm. On the other hand, Hoang will be charged for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165) for the possession of illegal drugs. Both individuals will have to face the legal consequences of their actions.

Language Barrier and Lack of Communication

One of the challenges faced during the investigation was the language barrier, as the two Vietnamese men were unable to provide statements due to their limited understanding of English or Tagalog. This added complexity to the case and highlighted the importance of effective communication in such situations. The authorities had to rely on other means to gather information and evidence to build their case against the suspects.

POGO Connection and Ongoing Investigations

The suspicion that the arrested individuals may be POGO workers raises questions about the involvement of foreign nationals in such high-risk activities. The police are delving deeper into the matter to uncover any potential connections to the online gaming industry and determine the motives behind the threatening incident at the bar. The ongoing investigations aim to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the case and bring justice to the victim who was threatened with a firearm.
