Suspected Ritualist Arrested in Ilorin

In a disturbing turn of events, the Kwara State Police Command has apprehended a suspected ritualist in Ilorin, the State Capital. The arrest came after the Police received a distress call regarding an attempted culpable homicide. The incident took place in the Abab Oke-Foma Area of Ilorin, where a 10-year-old boy named Akeem Nurudeen was lured into a room by a suspect identified as Isiaka Adeniyi, aged 46, from Ifedapo Community, Oke-Foma Area. The suspect allegedly pretended to purchase pepper from the young boy but instead covered his face with a cloth and attempted to harm him with a knife.

Thanks to the prompt action of vigilant community members, the suspect was caught and taken into custody. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation. Four Kidnappers Arrested in Delta

In another shocking development, a gang of four kidnappers operating in the Ughelli axis of Delta State has been apprehended by the State Police Command. The arrests came four months after the gang kidnapped and murdered a male resident in the town, whose identity has been withheld for privacy reasons. During the operation, one of the suspects was fatally shot while three others were taken into police custody. Additionally, AK-47 rifles were recovered from the scene.

According to Bright Edefe, the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Asaba, the operatives acted on credible intelligence and technical information related to the kidnapping and murder of the male victim. The crackdown on the deadly kidnapping syndicate led to the arrest of Ismaila Umaru, Chede Mohammed, and Mohammadu Sani, who were all linked to the heinous crime. The suspects provided vital information that led the operatives to a bush in Oviri-ogor, where they encountered an attack from other gang members. One suspect sustained serious gunshot injuries and later died in the hospital while receiving treatment. An AK-49 rifle was recovered from the hideout, and investigations are ongoing.
