The two soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice included an elite para commando. Jammu and Kashmir director general of police RR Swain commended the ongoing operations in Kashmir, stating that the neutralisation of such a large number of terrorists was a significant achievement. The Indian Army Chinar Corps posted a tribute to Lance Naik Pardeep Kumar and Sepoy Pravin Janjal Prabhakar, honouring their bravery and dedication in the line of duty.
**Two encounters in South Kashmir**
On a fateful Saturday night, two encounters unfolded in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. One clash occurred in Madergam, resulting in the death of a soldier and two terrorists. The second encounter took place in Chinigam, where four terrorists were eliminated, but sadly, another soldier lost his life in the line of duty. The four terrorists killed in Chinigam were identified as Yawar Bashir Dar, Zahid Ahmad Dar, Tawheed Ahmad Rather, and Shakeel Ahmad Wani. The two terrorists slain in Madergam were known as Faisal and Adil, according to NDTV reports.

All six terrorists were found to be affiliated with the Hizbul Mujahideen, with one of them identified as a local commander of the group.
