Arrest Made in Murder of Sheep Trader
In a recent development in the murder case of a 32-year-old sheep trader in Gurijepalli village, the Santhamaguluru police have successfully arrested the prime suspect. The accused has been identified as Ravulapalli Naga Prasad, a 24-year-old resident of Pathareddy Palem village in Nuzendla mandal of Palnadu district.

Details of the Crime
The tragic incident took place on March 7, 2024, when the victim, Mediboina Anjaneyulu, set out from his home with Rs 3 lakh to purchase sheep. Anjaneyulu and the accused, Naga Prasad, were known to be friends who frequented Sunday markets in Vinukonda, Chilakaluripeta, and nearby areas to sell sheep. On that fateful day, they both ended up at a farm estate where they consumed alcohol.
Arrest and Recovery
Naga Prasad, in a heinous act, strangled Anjaneyulu to death and made off with the stolen cash amounting to Rs 2.80 lakh. The police swung into action following a complaint by Gurijepalli VRO Sk. Abdul Subhani, who had discovered the body at the farm estate. Santhamaguluru circle inspector K. Narasimha Rao led the investigation, which resulted in the arrest of Naga Prasad.

Bapatla SP Vakul Jindal commended the efforts of Santhamaguluru inspector Narasimha Rao, sub-inspector P. Suresh, and their team for swiftly apprehending the accused and recovering a substantial portion of the stolen cash. The police also seized two cell phones and a motorbike that were used during the commission of the crime.
