Tragic Loss of Officer Jamieson Ritter
Officer Ritter, aged 27, tragically lost his life in the line of duty when he was fatally shot in the 1500 block of E. 80th Place in Cleveland’s Hough neighbourhood. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on a fateful Thursday. Chief Dorothy Todd disclosed that multiple officers had responded to the area to execute a warrant on a man wanted for felonious assault.
Suspect identified and Apprehended
The suspect, later identified as Delawnte Hardy, was spotted leaving a residence on a bicycle. As officers attempted to stop him, Chief Todd recounted that the suspect opened fire, hitting Officer Ritter. Hardy was promptly taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Cuyahoga County Justice Center. He now faces charges of aggravated murder and is being held on a $5 million bond.
