Biker Tragedy Strikes Kwaagyekrom Community
A devastating head-on collision between two motorbikes on a fateful Tuesday, July 2, has left the tight-knit community of Kwaagyekrom in the Offinso South Municipality of the Ashanti Region reeling in shock. The collision proved fatal, claiming the lives of two individuals and leaving another fighting for survival.
Details of the Tragic Incident
According to eyewitnesses, the impact of the collision was so severe that one of the motorbikes burst into flames, tragically resulting in one of the victims being burned beyond recognition. The other victim, succumbed to his injuries shortly after the collision, adding to the tragedy of the situation.
Assembly Member for the area, Alhassan Hamidu, revealed in an interview with Accra-based Asaase Radio that the victims were from the same family, an uncle, and a nephew. The uncle had parked his bike on the side of the road to make a phone call, while the nephew, traveling at high speed, experienced a mechanical fault that led to the fatal collision.
Efforts to Save Lives
Despite the swift response of medical professionals, one victim remains in critical condition, with doctors working tirelessly to save his life. Tragically, the other victim passed away while receiving treatment at St. Patrick’s Hospital, compounding the grief felt by the community.
Currently, one individual has been discharged from the hospital, while the police have initiated an investigation into the incident. As part of the investigation, the motorbike involved in the collision has been removed from the scene for further analysis.
Remembering the Deceased
The two victims of this tragic accident have been identified as Abudu Seidu, aged 45, and Aminu Sulemana, aged 19. Both individuals have been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic traditions, as the community mourns the loss of two of its own.
