Arrests Made in Connection with Bajali Murder Case
In what can be described as a major breakthrough, the Bajali Police have apprehended five individuals from Guwahati in connection with the murder of a local businessman. The arrested suspects have been identified as Manohar Ali, Eyakub Ali, Saidul Islam, Joynul Abedin, and MD Saher Ali. It is believed that Manohar Ali played a key role in orchestrating the heinous crime.
The Tragic Incident
The incident took place on July 1 in the Dhumarpur area, where a 33-year-old man named Ibrahim Ali was brutally murdered while returning home with his mother, Shahera Khatun. The assailants not only took the life of Ibrahim but also inflicted severe injuries on his mother. The entire assault was captured on a CCTV camera installed in front of their residence.
A Heart-Wrenching Account
Ismile Hussain, the elder brother of the deceased, recounted the chilling events of that fateful day. He mentioned, “A group of six individuals came to take someone’s life, but tragically, they ended up taking my brother’s life. He was innocently coming back home with our mother when they mercilessly shot and stabbed him. The entire horrifying episode was recorded by the CCTV camera placed in front of our house.”
Allegations and Suspicions
The family of the deceased has alleged that they had been receiving death threats due to an ongoing land dispute. They had even informed the police about potential suspects involved in criminal activities, including drug smuggling. The family firmly believes that the perpetrators had a history of engaging in illegal activities.
Legal Action Taken
In response to the shocking incident, the police have registered a case under Patacharkuchi Case No. 1380/3 103(1)/109/18(2)/190/329(4) BNS and Section 25(1) (A)/27/35 of the Arms Act. The authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their investigation to bring the culprits to justice and provide closure to the grieving family.
Police Statement
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajagwran Basumatary of Bajali shed light on the arrest of the suspects, stating, “The CCTV footage we obtained played a crucial role in tracing and apprehending all the accused individuals in Guwahati. They were found staying in a hotel in the Panbazar area. The victim was brutally murdered using a sharp weapon and a gun, with the motive appearing to be related to a land dispute.”
The arrest of the five suspects marks a significant step forward in the investigation of the murder case that has shaken the Bajali community to its core.
