The incident, which resulted in the death of 22-year-old Ray Bernal Jr., has seen a second suspect, identified as 46-year-old Gabriel Duran, arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail.
Arrest of Second Suspect
Following an extensive investigation into the fatal shooting of Ray Bernal Jr., Tucson Police detectives identified Gabriel Duran as the second suspect involved in the incident. Duran was located on July 2 in the area of S. Liberty Ave. and W. Virginia St., where he was apprehended with the assistance of officers from the Operations Division South/Community Response Teams and TPD SWAT.
Charges Faced by Gabriel Duran
Gabriel Duran, aged 46, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting. He is currently being held at the Pima County Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings. The bond amount for Duran has not yet been set.
