Connecticut Attorney General William Tong has launched an investigation into the disastrous ‘Capulet Fest’ that took place over the past weekend. The festival, which was in its second year, failed to meet expectations and left concertgoers in a state of uncertainty.

Originally scheduled to take place at the Thompson Speedway in Thompson, CT from June 28th-30th, the ‘Capulet Fest’ boasted a lineup of 55 bands, including headliners like August Burns Red, Skillet, and Nothing More. The event was set to offer camping accommodations, food trucks, and more for the 13,000 capacity venue.

However, just one day before the festival was set to begin, the Thompson Speedway announced that they would no longer be hosting the event. This led to a cascade of changes, with dozens of artists dropping off the bill and the venue being moved to The Webster in Hartford, CT, 52 miles away from the original location.

The newly revised lineup was 20 artists short of the original announcement, with notable bands like Nothing More, Senses Fail, and 10 Years no longer participating. The last-minute venue change left attendees scrambling, especially those who had planned on camping at the original location.

The chaos continued into the weekend, with bands dropping off the bill during the Saturday show, including It Dies Today and Upon A Burning Body. Attendees were even ejected from one part of the venue mid-set during LiveKill’s performance.

Despite these setbacks, headliners Skillet were able to close out the Saturday show at the main part of The Webster. However, the final day of the festival was canceled altogether.

Connecticut Attorney General William Tong expressed his outrage at the situation during a press conference, stating that he had received 60 complaints about the festival. He announced an investigation into Capulet Entertainment LLC, the company behind the event, and its owner Estevan Vega.

Tong emphasized that attendees were promised a three-day outdoor festival with camping, food trucks, and high-profile bands. However, the reality fell short of those promises, with the event being moved to a smaller venue and many bands dropping off the bill.

The investigation will seek to uncover the details of what went wrong with the ‘Capulet Fest’ and ensure that such a situation does not occur again in the future. Tong stressed the importance of consumer protection and holding event organizers accountable for their promises.

As the investigation unfolds, concertgoers and fans of the ‘Capulet Fest’ await answers about the events that transpired over the weekend. Stay tuned for updates on the investigation into this tumultuous music festival..
