Armed Robbery Scheme Unfolds in Salisbury

Salisbury was rocked by a disturbing incident recently when a man fell victim to a carefully orchestrated armed robbery. The unsuspecting victim had been lured into the trap through fake date plans made online, only to find himself face-to-face with a rifle-wielding assailant.

Deceptive Date Plans Turned Violent

The victim, who had been engaging in conversations with a woman on Facebook Messenger, was enticed to meet her in person in Salisbury for what he believed was a romantic rendezvous. However, upon arriving at the designated location on Ivy Street, his hopes of a pleasant evening were shattered.

As he stepped out of his vehicle and commenced conversation with the woman, a man emerged from a parked car in the driveway brandishing a rifle. The situation quickly escalated as the armed duo proceeded to rob the victim of his valuables, including jewellery and personal belongings amounting to an estimated $7,510, before fleeing the scene.

Extortion and Intervention

Following the robbery, the victim was further subjected to emotional turmoil when the perpetrators contacted him, demanding a ransom of $1,000 in exchange for the return of his possessions. Alerting the Salisbury Police Department to the harrowing ordeal, the victim cooperated with law enforcement in a bid to apprehend the culprits.

With the assistance of the victim, the police devised a plan to intercept the thieves during a rendezvous at a nearby gas station. When the assailants arrived to extort the ransom, they were promptly arrested by waiting officers, bringing a swift end to their criminal activities.
