Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Former High School Students

In a devastating turn of events, two former students of Ida B. Wells High School lost their lives in a car crash in Southeast Portland. The incident occurred following a police chase involving a stolen vehicle in the early hours of Tuesday, June 25.

Police Chase Ends in Tragedy

The ill-fated pursuit began when Gresham police attempted to stop a vehicle near Southeast 159th Avenue and Division Street. The driver of the stolen car refused to comply and led officers on a chase that ended in a catastrophic crash near Southeast 139th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. The stolen vehicle collided with another car and a utility pole, resulting in the tragic deaths of two passengers.

Victims identified

The deceased individuals were identified as Dylan Brasky and Jayden Rolon-Ekis, both former sophomores at Ida B. Wells High School. The two students had recently transferred to Portland Community College before their lives were cut short in the fatal accident. A third occupant of the car, Cole \”CJ\” Johnson, a recent graduate of Ida B. Wells, sustained life-threatening injuries and is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.
