The incident, which took place in the 600 block of Bourbon Street at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, resulted in two individuals sustaining gunshot wounds. NOPD officers responded to the scene and found the victims, who were then transported to a nearby hospital by NOEMS. The current condition of the wounded individuals has not been disclosed to the public.

Following a thorough investigation into the homicide, two suspects were identified and apprehended. 22-year-old Mia Lindsey and 26-year-old Maraiah Campbell were arrested in Columbus, Mississippi, and are set to be extradited to Orleans Parish. Both individuals will face charges of second-degree murder and accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.
