Details of the Tragic Crash

According to authorities, Schwally crossed over Grand Boulevard and drove through the parking lot of 794 Grand Boulevard before crashing his 2020 Chevy Traverse through the front window of Hawaii Nail & Spa at 4:32 p.m. The salon was open and conducting business at the time of the crash, leading to the tragic loss of Officer Rennhack and three other individuals inside.

The Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner pronounced the victims dead at the scene, while nine others were transported to local hospitals for treatment. One individual had to be airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for further medical care.
