Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting

In a tragic turn of events, one man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Christian Disla on Muhlenberg Street in Reading. Luis Santos-Cruz, 19, of the 1500 block of Cotton Street, is wanted on first- and third-degree murder, aggravated assault, and related charges. Police are still searching for his brother, who is believed to be the second shooter involved in the incident.

Details of the Shooting

The incident took place on April 1, when officers responded to reports of shots fired on Muhlenberg Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Disla, who had been shot and tragically passed away from his injuries. An autopsy revealed that he had been killed by a single gunshot that traveled from his lower back into his chest.

Investigation and Arrest

Reading police conducted a thorough investigation, interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from the area. They were able to identify Jonielle Cruz, 17, of Reading, as one of the individuals involved in the shooting. Cruz was arrested in May and is currently in custody without bail.

According to a second victim of the incident, he had been confronted by Luis Santos-Cruz, Jonielle Cruz, and Joseph Nelson over a previous altercation shortly before the shooting. The victim then met with Disla and another individual at a corner store, where they were later targeted in the attack.
