The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed by authorities, was found concealed in the apartment located at Broadview Avenue and Dundas Street East on May 27.

Deliberate Steps Taken to Conceal the Body

Although an autopsy revealed that the deceased died of natural causes, Superintendent Kim O’Toole of 55 Division stated that “deliberate steps” were taken to keep the body hidden. Perron, who is known to have a history of criminal activities, was forensically linked to the scene and was observed using the deceased’s key fob to enter the apartment. Prior to the discovery, Perron had established a friendship with the deceased, and the two were frequently seen together.

A Troubling Past Comes to Light

In 2015, Perron was charged and later convicted of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a sex trade worker. The victim was reportedly held against her will in an east-end home for five days before managing to escape. Police noted that there were elements of “ritualistic actions” involved in the crime, although specific details were not provided. Perron was serving a three-year sentence at Bath Institution near Kingston, Ontario, before his release in 2021.

A Dangerous Individual on the Loose

Authorities have issued a Canada-wide warrant for Perron’s arrest, citing a breach of his parole conditions related to the 2015 conviction. Superintendent O’Toole expressed concerns about Perron’s potential to exploit vulnerable individuals, particularly women and members of the LGBTQ2S+ community. She urged anyone with information on Perron’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in apprehending the suspect.

Community Support Worker Raises Alarm

The investigation was sparked by a community support worker who had been assisting the deceased prior to their death. After the individual missed an appointment, the worker alerted the police, leading to the discovery of the body in the Riverside apartment. O’Toole emphasised that Perron’s presence in the community poses a significant risk, and urged residents to remain vigilant.
