Arrest Made in Lewd and Lascivious Incident at Schlanger Park
In a disturbing turn of events on Friday afternoon, June 21, 2024, law enforcement officers from the Pittsburg Police Department responded to a report of a male suspect engaging in lewd and lascivious behaviour at Schlanger Park. The incident took place at the park’s splash pad, located in the 700 block of E. 6th Street in Pittsburg.

Suspect identified and Apprehended
Upon arrival at the scene, officers encountered the suspect, later identified as 19-year-old Walter Lalimo from Pittsburg. Lalimo, upon seeing the officers, attempted to flee southbound into the park. A chase ensued, leading officers through Schlanger Park to the south parking lot area along E. 4th Street, where Lalimo was ultimately apprehended without further incident.
Charges and Booking
Walter Lalimo was arrested on charges of felony lewd and lascivious behaviour in the presence of a person less than 16 years of age, as well as interference with law enforcement. Following his arrest, Lalimo was transported to the jail at the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office for booking. He is currently being held in lieu of a $7,500 bond.
