In a recent turn of events, 36-year-old Joseph Ioerger of Statesville has pleaded guilty to robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon. On the fateful day of the robbery, Statesville Police Officers received a distress call from the Love’s Truck Stop reporting an armed robbery. A masked individual, described as a white male, entered the store brandishing a handgun. The suspect demanded money from the clerk and also requested several packs of cigarettes. After looting the store of $560 in cash, cigarettes, and energy drinks, the suspect fled the scene.

On July 6, officers tracked Ioerger to an address on Crestridge Road in Statesville.
