In a significant development, the investigation into the NEET-UG question paper leak case has widened as Bihar Police’s Economic Offences Unit (EOU) apprehended six additional individuals in Deoghar, Jharkhand. **CBI Files FIR Amidst Nationwide Protests**
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a First Information Report (FIR) regarding alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam that took place on May 5. The move comes following a referral from the Union Education Ministry and amidst mounting pressure from students demanding a thorough investigation into the leaked exam papers.

According to a Deoghar police official, the suspects had been evading authorities and sought refuge at the residence of Jhunu Singh in the Devipur locality since the cheating scandal came to light on May 5. Acting on this information, the EOU conducted a raid at the “safe house” near AIIMS Deoghar and transported the suspects to Patna under transit remand. The individuals arrested have been identified as Paramjit Singh (alias Bittu), Baldev Kumar (alias Chintu), Prashant Kumar (alias Kaju), Ajit Kumar, Rajiv Kumar (alias Karu), and Pinku Kumar.
**Authorities Consider Brain-Mapping and Narco-Analysis Tests**
Authorities are contemplating conducting brain-mapping and narco-analysis tests on certain suspects if necessary. Additionally, the Enforcement Directorate is exploring potential money-laundering activities under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
**Missing Professor Under Spotlight**
Initial investigations have indicated that Sanjiv Mukhiya (alias Luta), a technical assistant at Noorsarai Horticulture College in Nalanda, may be the mastermind behind the paper leak racket. The scheme allegedly involved a professor from Hazaribagh who transmitted the exam papers to Sanjiv via WhatsApp. With assistance from medical students in Patna and Ranchi, the questions were solved and forwarded to Chintu of Karai Parsurai. Efforts are currently underway to locate this professor.
**Mukhiya Gang’s Alleged Involvement**
A person associated with the Mukhiya gang reportedly received the solved answer sheet of the NEET-UG exam in PDF format on his mobile phone a day before the exam. Members of the Mukhiya gang are suspected of being behind the leaked answer sheet, which was printed and distributed to students at a safe house in Patna. The leaked question paper is said to have originated from a private school in Hazaribagh affiliated with the gang.
