Man Arrested in North Carolina for April Shooting Death of San Jose Woman
In a recent development, a 61-year-old man suspected in the shooting death of a woman in downtown San Jose back in April has been apprehended in North Carolina. The incident took place on April 26, when the woman was found with a gunshot wound in the area of North Fourth Street and East St. John Street. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The victim was identified as 54-year-old Sonji Conerly by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Arrest and Investigation
Following the tragic incident, San Jose police detectives launched an investigation that led them to identify Myron Barrier, a resident of San Jose, as a suspect. On June 21, Barrier was brought back to San Jose by police detectives and booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of homicide.
