Man Charged with Murder in Teen’s Shooting on Metro Bus
A Washington, D.C., man, Trevon Hatcherson-Ross, 22, has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting of Justice T’Ziyan Elliott, 19, on a Metro Bus in Montgomery County more than a year ago. The tragic incident took place on Feb. 17, 2023, on Lockwood Drive in White Oak, according to a news release from Montgomery County Police.

Details of the Incident
On the day of the shooting, officers on patrol in the Vista at White Oak apartments noticed a WMATA Metro Bus stopped on Lockwood Drive. Upon approaching the bus, they discovered that a shooting had taken place inside. Despite their best efforts to save the victim, Justice T’Ziyan Elliott, he was pronounced dead at the scene by Montgomery County Fire Rescue.
Investigation and Arrest
Following an extensive investigation, detectives were able to identify Trevon Hatcherson-Ross as the suspect in the case. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued against him, charging him with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and reckless endangerment-related charges. Hatcherson-Ross was extradited from a detention center in Washington, D.C., to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit on June 14, where he is currently being held without bond.
