A deadly shooting outside a grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas, has left the community in shock. The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Travis Posey, opened fire outside the Mad Butcher grocery store, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. Among the deceased were Shirley Taylor, 62, Callie Weems, 23, Roy Sturgis, 50, and Ellen Shrum, 81.

Suspect and Victims Identified
Travis Posey, the alleged shooter, was grazed in the head during the incident and was subsequently taken into custody. Authorities have confirmed that Posey will face four counts of capital murder, with additional charges pending. The suspect was treated for non-life-threatening injuries before being transported to the Ouachita County Detention Center.
Survivors and Law Enforcement Officers
In addition to the four fatalities, 14 people were wounded in the shooting, including 11 civilians, two law enforcement officers, and the suspect himself. Seven civilians, comprising five women and two men, sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment. Four victims remain hospitalized, with one woman in critical condition. Three civilians were released from the hospital on the same day.

Fordyce Police officer James Johnson, 31, was released from the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound during the incident. Similarly, Stuttgart Police officer John Hudson, 24, sustained minor injuries and has since been treated and released.
