Tragic Collision Leads to Fatalities and Injuries in Dindigul
A devastating incident occurred in Dindigul district in the early hours of Saturday, June 22, 2024, when a tractor and a TN State Transport Council mofussil bus collided at Kathirayankulam Pass. The collision resulted in the tragic death of three individuals and left several others seriously injured.

Details of the Incident
The collision took place at 2 a.m. when a group of men had hired a tractor to visit Karuppanasami Temple in Kathirayankulam to observe pournami. After offering their prayers at the shrine, the group departed from the temple around 1 a.m. in the tractor. As they approached the Kathirayankulam Pass, the tractor collided with a TNSTC bus bound for Palani.
In the aftermath of the collision, Periannan, an 18-year-old individual who was in the tractor, tragically lost his life on the spot. Additionally, 15 individuals, including Alagumalai, Ashok, Sanjay, Senathipathi, Nageswaran, Vivek, Alagu, Kumar, Suresh, and others, sustained serious injuries. One passenger on the TNSTC bus, identified as Saminathan, also suffered injuries in the accident.
Tragic Losses
Two of the injured individuals, Ashok and Alagumalai, were rushed to Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital for medical treatment. Sadly, despite the efforts of medical professionals, both Ashok and Alagumalai succumbed to their injuries in the early hours of Saturday morning. The loss of these two young lives has left their families and loved ones devastated.

Following the tragic incident, the Reddiarchathiram police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
