Police Pursue Suspect After Shots Fired Incident
In a dramatic turn of events in Freeport, police are actively searching for one individual after making two arrests linked to reports of multiple shots fired on Friday. After receiving a tip about two people allegedly involved in a shots fired incident earlier in the day, officers identified Martell Pogue, 25, and Delovia Ford, 36, as suspects.

Arrests Made, Suspect Still at Large
Following the tip-off, police responded to a residence on S. High Avenue where Pogue and Ford were sighted. During the encounter, Pogue attempted to flee the scene in a car, leading officers on a chase, which unfortunately resulted in him evading capture.
Discoveries Made During Investigation
During the investigation, Ford was arrested, and officers found a firearm and 300 grams of suspected cannabis at the residence. Ford now faces charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to deliver cannabis.
Search for Martell Pogue Continues
Despite the arrests made, police are still actively searching for Martell Pogue. Anyone with information on Pogue’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Freeport Police Department, Stateline Area Crime Stoppers, or text Tip411.
Second Incident Unfolds
Later in the day, police responded to a report of a fight in the 200 block of West Pleasant, where they discovered that the victim was the same individual involved in the earlier shots fired incident. A 16-year-old male was found to have confronted the victim and threatened them with a firearm. The officers were able to recover the firearm and arrest the juvenile at the scene.

Charges Laid Against the Juvenile
The 16-year-old now faces charges of possession of a handgun by a person under 18, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon (UUW), and aggravated assault with a firearm.
