In a tragic turn of events, a 46-year-old man from Apple Valley lost his life in a motorcycle accident in the early hours of Friday morning. The incident took place in the Town of Apple Valley, leaving the community in shock and mourning the loss of a fellow resident.
**Details of the Incident**
The fatal crash occurred on Friday, June 21, 2024, around 12:54 am on Pasco Road, just south of Bear Valley Road. Emergency services, including deputies from the Apple Valley Station, rescue personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Department, and American Medical Response, rushed to the scene following reports of a single-vehicle collision.
**Investigation and Findings**
Upon investigation, authorities revealed that a black Harley Davidson motorcycle was travelling westbound on Bear Valley Road before making a left turn onto Outer Bear Valley South from the dirt shoulder. Unfortunately, the driver, identified as Francisco Magana, lost control of the motorcycle during the turn, causing it to flip and ejecting him from the vehicle. Despite wearing a helmet, Magana sustained major head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
**Response and Closure**
A team from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T) arrived to conduct a thorough investigation. As a result, Pasco Road was closed between Outer Bear Valley Road South and Laguna Road for approximately four hours to allow deputies to collect evidence and interview witnesses.
