Death – Obituary- Cause of Death News : Susan Marinelli, a beloved resident of Avon, Connecticut, formerly of Canton and Torrington, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2021. Susan was known for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

Born in Torrington, Connecticut, Susan was the daughter of the late John and Mary Marinelli. She grew up in a close-knit family and developed a strong sense of community and compassion from a young age. Susan attended Torrington High School, where she excelled academically and participated in various extracurricular activities.

After graduating, Susan pursued a career in healthcare, working as a registered nurse for over 30 years. She was dedicated to providing quality care to her patients and was respected by her colleagues for her expertise and professionalism. Susan’s compassionate nature and gentle demeanor made her a favorite among both patients and staff.

In her free time, Susan enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. She had a green thumb and took great pride in tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Susan’s homemade Italian meals were a highlight at family gatherings, and her meatballs were legendary among friends and relatives.

Susan was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She cherished her role as a mother and took great joy in watching her children grow and succeed. Susan was a constant presence in her grandchildren’s lives, attending school events, sports games, and dance recitals whenever she could.

Susan will be deeply missed by her children, John (Julie) Marinelli and Lisa (Michael) Jones; her grandchildren, Emily, Michael, and Sophia; her siblings, Mark (Debbie) Marinelli and Laura (Tom) Smith; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Marinelli.

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Avon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Susan’s memory.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hartford Hospital for their compassionate care during Susan’s final days. Their kindness and support provided comfort to Susan and her loved ones during a difficult time.

Susan Marinelli touched the lives of all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. May she rest in peace knowing she was deeply loved and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
