First Shooting Incident

The initial incident unfolded on Tuesday, as witnesses observed 18-year-old Javon Singletary allegedly firing shots at a home located in the 800 block of West 58th Street. In a retaliatory move, a 16-year-old teenager returned fire before Singletary was taken into custody later that same evening.

Singletary faced arraignment on Thursday, where he was formally charged with felonious assault, improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation, and tampering with evidence. He is currently being held at the Ashtabula City Jail, while the 16-year-old involved in the altercation is also facing legal repercussions for their actions.

Second Shooting Incident

The following morning, authorities responded to another shooting incident in the 5900 block of Adams Avenue, just a stone’s throw away from the previous altercation. This time, 21-year-old Brian Poole Jr., a resident of Wickliffe, was identified as the suspect who allegedly fired rounds into a dwelling following a heated dispute with the occupants.

Law enforcement swiftly apprehended Poole at his residence in Wickliffe, where they recovered what they believe to be the weapon used in the shooting. Like Singletary, Poole now faces charges of felonious assault, improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation, and tampering with evidence, and is being held at the Ashtabula City Jail pending further legal proceedings.
