IHIT Identifies Surrey Homicide Victim as Tory Dunn: Latest News

A day after last Sunday’s homicide victim in Surrey’s Port Kells neighbourhood had been identified by her family members on social media, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on Wednesday said that in order to further the investigation, the victim was being identified as 30-year-old Tory Dunn from Surrey.

Early Life and Tragic Incident

30-year-old Tory Dunn, a resident of Surrey, was tragically killed in her home in Port Kells neighbourhood. Her father, Aron Dunn, identified her as “Tori Marie Dunn” on social media, shedding light on her personal life and the impact her untimely death has had on her family and community.

Tori Dunn was a well-known figure in her community, known for her kindness and dedication to her loved ones. Her sudden and senseless death has left her family and friends devastated.

Investigation and Ongoing Efforts

On June 16, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a woman with life-threatening injuries at a residence near the 9800-block of 182A Street. Despite efforts to save her, Tori succumbed to her injuries at a nearby hospital.

Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over the case, working alongside Surrey RCMP, the BC Coroners Service, and the Integrated Forensic Identification Service. A suspect was apprehended and remains in custody for an unrelated charge as the investigation continues.

IHIT Staff-Sgt. David Lee expressed condolences to Tori’s family and emphasized the commitment to uncovering the truth behind the tragic incident.

Remembering Tori Dunn

Tori Dunn was the owner and founder of Dunn Right Landscaping Services, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to her work. She attended Sullivan Heights Secondary in Surrey and pursued studies in Psychiatric Nursing at Douglas College.

Her father, Aron Dunn, shared heartfelt words on social media, inviting the community to a vigil in her honour at Surrey Bend Regional Park. The vigil served as a tribute to Tori’s memory and the impact she had on those around her.

The Dunn family announced a funeral service to be held at Valley View Funeral Home, providing an opportunity for loved ones to pay their final respects to Tori Dunn.

IHIT is urging anyone with dash-camera or surveillance footage in the vicinity of 9800-block of 182A Street to come forward with information. Witnesses or individuals with relevant details can contact the IHIT Information Line or email IHIT for assistance in the ongoing investigation.
