A heartbreaking tragedy struck Capitol Heights, MD, on the night of Sunday, June 17, when 29-year-old Ronald Hayes, Jr., from Upper Marlboro, lost his life in a fatal ATV accident. The devastating collision, involving a pickup truck, occurred around 10:00 PM on the 7500 block of Walker Mill Road. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found Hayes critically injured. Despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to a nearby hospital. Not only did Hayes lose his life in this horrific incident, but an adult female passenger on the ATV also sustained critical injuries.
Investigations are currently underway by the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
