**Former Real Estate Agent Pleads Not Guilty to Multiple Felony Charges**

A former real estate agent from Simi Valley, Lane Yudell, aged 57, entered a plea of not guilty to 13 felony counts including forgery, grand theft, and money laundering. The charges were filed by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office after an extensive investigation that spanned over two years. Yudell allegedly deceived a 60-year-old woman from Thousand Oaks, who worked for him, into giving up possession and ownership of her home through false statements. He then proceeded to steal the proceeds from the sale of her residence and launder the money through various bank accounts, as stated by the DA’s office.

Additionally, Yudell is accused of forging the signature of a 78-year-old woman, who was the buyer of properties in Port Hueneme, Thousand Oaks, and Long Beach. These fraudulent activities allegedly took place over a 3 ½-year period from February 2016 to August 2019 while Yudell was a licensed real estate agent. However, the crimes were not uncovered until 2020, after his license had expired.

The next court proceeding is scheduled for July 29, where attorneys are expected to discuss various matters related to the case.
