Bossier Sheriff’s Office Detectives are currently investigating the tragic shooting death of an elderly man in Shreveport. The incident occurred shortly before 7pm at a residence just south of Benton. The victim, who had just arrived home and exited his vehicle, was approached by a suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The suspect then shot the victim multiple times in the upper body. Despite efforts by neighbors to save him, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

This discovery led to the execution of two search warrants by the Shreveport Police Department Special Response Team and Bossier Sheriff’s Office investigators in the early hours of June 14th at two locations in Shreveport. Through their investigation, detectives identified Destiny Landers, 23, as the driver of the suspect vehicle, and Delandro Fleming, 22, as the suspect in the homicide. Landers was arrested during one of the search warrant executions, while Fleming was apprehended at a residence on Captain Shreve Drive in Shreveport. The motive behind the shooting remains unknown at this time.
